ene.fimilaneld national dissemination workshop – Italy
Findings & policy recommendations

The Italian national ene.field workshop, held in Milan on the 23rd of July, was the first in a series of national events aimed to inform participants about the ene.field project  findings and the potential of fuel cell micro-CHP technologies for the energy transition at national level. The workshop participants, representing the fuel cells industry, the research community as well as EU policymakers, identified the challenges and made policy recommendations for the large scale deployment of fuel cell micro-CHP technologies in Italy.
The conclusions of the event have been summed up in this document.

enatomiume.field national dissemination workshop – Belgium
27 September 2016

Save the date. One year ahead the project’s end, ene.field project partners are pleased to invite you to learn more about micro-cogeneration with fuel cells (FC mCHP), first-hand from suppliers. The aim of this workshop is to inform participants of the ene.field project findings and of the potential of FC mCHP technologies for the energy transition in Belgium. This event is organised in collaboration with COGEN Flanders and it is the Belgian edition of a series of national workshops that will present project findings in different markets across Europe. Ideas and inputs will be collected from the audience (local policy-makers, academics, industries, DSO, ESCOs, utilities, operators and end-users), with a view to address the challenges for a deployment of fuel cell micro-CHP technologies in Belgium.
Attendance to the workshop is free. To register, please send your name, function, company and e-mail address to tanya.carre@cogeneurope.eu by Friday, 23rd September COB.
Venue: Salons Waerboom, Jozef Mertensstraat 140, 1702 Groot-Bijgaarden, Belgium.

The full agenda will be made available on the ene.fieldwebsite in the coming weeks.
The workshop will be held in English.

New PACE project to deploy over 2500 fuel cell micro-CHPs
PACE (Pathway to a Competitive European FC mCHP market) project started on 1st June and is expected to run until 2021. The project represents a step up in ambition, as it aims to install more than 2500 fuel cell micro-CHP units across several European countries. This will enable fuel cell µ-CHP manufacturers to scale up production using new series techniques, and increased automation. It involves 9 partners from 6 countries, among which five leading European manufacturers (BDR Thermea, Bosch, SOLIDpower, Vaillant and Viessmann) whereas the coordinating partner is COGEN Europe. The main aim of this project is to ensure that the European mCHP sector will make the next steps to achieve mass market commercialisation. The project will allow the deployment of new innovations in fuel cell micro-CHP products, which reduce unit cost by over 30%, increase stack lifetime to over 10 years (by end of the project) and improve the electrical efficiency of all units. The PACE project has a total budget of € 90 million and is co-funded by industry and the FCH JU. PACE will receive €34 million in funding from the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2 Joint Undertaking.Further information about the project.
