According to the new report ‘Stationary Fuel Cells’ from Pike Research, the number of stationary fuel cells could increase from 21,000 in 2012 to more than 350,000 by 2022. The strong growth that stationary fuel cell industry has lately experienced due to the governments’ interest in reliable and cleaner energy sources, could go even further. Hence, the global market potential would exceed three gigawatts (GW) in 2013 and increase to more than 50 GW by 2020.

An increase in fuel cell demand is driving new business models to adapt in order to meet this demand. Stationary fuel cells are becoming a much more consistent choice, being part of the general energy mix.
