SENERTEC Kraft-Wärme-Energiesysteme GmbH is a Schweinfurt based company that sells fuel cell heating systems to be deployed in single/two family homes. Founded in 1996, the company took up its position as a subsidiary of the BAXI Group e.V. SenerTec advanced to become the European market leader of mini combined heat and power technology (CHP). Since 2009, the BAXI Group – along with SenerTec – has become part of BDR Thermea Group, Europe´s third largest manufacturer in the heating industry. This Group –formed out of a merger of BAXI and De Dietrich Remeha – is active in even higher measure in traditional and international growth markets with its’ innovative and top quality products and services. With SenerTec and the DACHS – their mini combined heat and power unit – as well as the Group’s commitment to the ECOGEN and EVITA heating units with Stirling engine, BDR Thermea is now market leader in the segment of environmentally friendly CHP.

What we do

The strategy of the BDR Thermea Group is focused on a strong commitment to combined heat and power (CHP). SenerTec, with more than 30 years of experience and know-how not only in sales but also in manufacturing mini CHP systems “DACHS”, has the best qualification to enter the markets for highly efficient and state-of-the art fuel cell technology. With its network of 31 Sales Centres and more than 1000 installer partners, SenerTec consequently plays an important role in the BDR Thermea Group. The major focus of their activity lies in sales, commissioning and service of the highly efficient PEM fuel cell heating units for single/two family homes. Technical approval, planning of the application and information about subsidies depending on customer requirements are realised. By selling highly efficient fuel cell heating systems, we will meet the demands of energy policy for increased efficiency with a sustainable, environmentally responsible and clean solution. That was the reason for SenerTec to join ene.field project in 2014, in order to share the experiences of BAXI and BDR Thermea being Callux project partner since 2008. The Callux project was a practice test carried out by the German government and the industry to prepare stationary fuel cell heating units for the market.

SenerTec’s role in the ene.field project

Fuel cell micro-Cogeneration as a key component of SenerTec’s-CHP (Combined Heat and Power) product range has reached the technical maturity. The commercialisation process can now be underlined by an operating network with founded knowledge of micro and mini CHP systems. More than 30 years of experience, specialisation over a range of apartment blocks and commercial applications, manufacturing, sales, installation and maintenance of DACHS combined heat and power systems can now also allow users in newly constructed or existing one/two family homes to become a new “Prosumer” with the highest efficient technology:  Heating at home and producing own electricity by consuming it at the same time in his own building. Furthermore, electricity which you do not use on your own can also be fed into the grid.

“Now, the future of heating systems for one/two family homes is not any more based on consuming energy, but on generating energy!” says Michael Boll, Managing Director at SenerTec GmbH.
